Dr. Jin joined USTC after his postdoc training at NIAID/NIH in 2015. He is now the group leader (PI) of Laboratory of Structural Immunology at USTC. Dr. Jin has published over 170 research papers covering structural biology, immunology, infectious diseases, and agriculture. He has citation over 12 000 and H-index of 46. The main research interest of TJ-Lab is to use molecular, biochemical, and immunological methodologies to expand the understanding of infectious as well as autoimmune diseases, and to improve the quality of life for patients. We are particularly interested in the following major research areas: 1) Mechanism and intervention for infection and immunity 2) Tumor immunobiology and immunotherapy 3) Protein engineering and antibody drug discovery
Prof. Panagiotakos Demosthenes is a distinguished expert in Biostatistics Epidemiology, with a research focus on the epidemiology of chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular disease and cancer. His work also encompasses medical research methodology,specializing in the design of epidemiological studies and clinical trials. Prof. Panagiotakos has contributed to the development of complex indices and scores for measuring behaviors and emotions. He holds a post-doctoral degree in cardiovascular epidemiology from Georgetown University Medical Center/VAMC in Washington DC (2004) and a PhD in Medicine/Epidemiology from the University of Athens (2002). Additionally, he holds an MSc in Biostatistics from the University of Athens (2000), a Certificate in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (1999), and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Patras (1989). His research interests extend to cardiovascular disease risk factors, nutrition, healthy aging, public health, and multivariate analysis within biostatistics.
Dr. Charles J. Malemud received the Ph.D. from George Washington University in 1973 and completed postdoctoral studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1977. Since 1977, Dr. Malemud has been a member of the faculty at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine where he is presently Professor of Medicine & Anatomy in the Division of Rheumatic Diseases and Senior Investigator in the Arthritis Research Laboratory. He has published over 200 papers, chapters and reviews primarily in the field of chondrocyte biology. Professor Malemud is on the editorial board of several rheumatology, immunology and musculoskeletal journals and is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical and Cellular Immunology. Professor Malemud has received many honors and awards in various fields.
Dr. William Cho is a Biomedical Scientist in Queen Elizabeth Hospital. His main research interests have been focusing on cancer studies utilizing high-throughput technologies to discover biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, treatment prediction and prognostication. He is a Chartered Scientist granted by the Science Council (UK), a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner (HK), Guest Professor of a number of Universities and a Fellow Member of several institutes, including the Institute of Biomedical Science (UK), Hong Kong Institute of Biomedical Science and Hong Kong Society for Molecular Diagnostic Sciences. Dr Cho has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers (Lancet Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, Clinical Chemistry, Annuals of Oncology, etc) covering cancer biomarkers, proteomics, microRNAs, Chinese medicine and plenty of books including "MicroRNAs in cancer translational research", "An omics perspective on cancer research", "Supportive cancer care with Chinese medicine", etc. He serves as the editor-in-chief, editor and associate editor of a number of international medical journals. Dr Cho is also an international renowned grant reviewer of the Hope Funds for Cancer Research (USA), Cancer Research (UK), MRC Research Grant (UK), Health Research Board (Ireland), Science Foundation (Ireland), Istituto Toscano Tumori (Firenze), The Foundation Fournier-Majoie for Innovation (Brussels), National Medical Research Council (Singapore), The Medical Research Council (South Africa), and Academia Sinica Investigator Award (Taiwan), etc. Research Interest Cancer biomarkers, SELDI, microRNA.
Dr. Marybeth S. Hughes, MD, FACS, is a Professor of Surgery and Chief of Surgical Oncology at EVMS. She previously served at the National Cancer Institute (NIH), where she was a Surgical Oncologist and Director of the Surgical Oncology Research Fellowship Program. Dr. Hughes is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She has published extensively on topics like neuroendocrine tumors, melanoma, pancreatic cancer, and breast cancer. Dr. Hughes is a national and international presenter and continues to mentor students, residents, and fellows in surgical oncology. She also re-developed the curriculum for the Surgical Oncology Research Fellowship Program at NIH

He was the inaugural Visiting Professor at the International Research Institute of Health Law Sciences, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China and has just completed a teaching lecture tour, as Visiting Professor, to the East China University of Political Science and Law, Shanghai, China.
Dr. Farouk El-Sabban holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State University. He worked in a variety of positions in academia in the United States for 33 years before moving to Kuwait where he has worked for the past 15 years. He has held many senior positions such as head of units and departments and acting dean. Currently he is a Professor of Nutrition and Physiology at Kuwait University.
Prof. Dr. habil. Bernd Blobel is a distinguished expert in eHealth, medical informatics, and biomedical engineering. He has contributed to EHR, privacy, interoperability, telemedicine, and personalized medicine research globally. Dr. Blobel has held key positions, including Head of the German National eHealth Competence Centre and Visiting Professor at Charles University Prague. He has been involved in major international healthcare projects and served as Chair and Keynote Speaker at numerous conferences. He is a Fellow of ACMI, HL7, and the Australasian College of Health Informatics. Dr. Blobel has authored significant research and held leadership roles in international organizations like HL7, EFMI, and IMIA.
Prof. Eran Lavy is a distinguished expert in Small Animal Internal Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, Sustained Release Devices, and Gastroenterology. He completed his M.Sc. in Pharmacology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1986 and obtained his DVM from the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, also at the Hebrew University, in 1989. Prof. Lavy is certified by the Israeli Veterinary Services as a specialist in Clinical Veterinary Medicine (1995) and Veterinary Pharmacology (1997). He became a Diplomat of the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology in 1999.
Dr. Chikezie Kennedy Kalu s field of research is Technology and Innovation Management. He is from Nigeria and has a B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering from The University of Nigeria Nsukka; Nigeria (UNN) and a Masters (with Distinction) in Communication Engineering from The University of Manchester, UK. Gosetti Fabio graduated in Chemistry in 2002 at University of Piemonte Orientale (UPO) and he got the PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2005 at the same University. In 2019, he was Analytical Chemistry Assistant Professor at the Department of Earth and Environmental Science, University of Milano – Bicocca, and since 2022 he is Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry. He has over twenty years of experience in the use of LC-MS/MS technique, in particular as concerns the development and the validation of LC-MS/MS methods for the determination of targeted (chloroanilines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, aromatic sulfonates, pesticides, drugs, psychotropic substances, perfluorinated compound, dyes, phthalates, alkylphenols,..) and untargeted species in several matrices (food, biological and environmental matrices). His studies deal with the identification of new unknown emerging pollutants in water, formed by natural or sunlight-induced transformation reactions in the environment. He attended numerous schools, conferences and seminars, as author and co-author of several oral and poster communications at national and international congresses. In 2003 he won the award by Analytical Chemistry Division of Italian Chemical Society (SCI) for the best national degree thesis (academic year 2001/2002) and in the same year, he received the award for the best graduate of the Faculty of Sciences of the UPO in the academic year 2001/2002. In 2004, he won the award “Giovanni Galli taking part in 8th School of Mass Spectrometry for graduate students organized by the Mass Spectrometry Division of the Italian Chemical Society. In 2006, he was the winner of the award “Young Researcher” of the Analytical Chemistry Division of the SCI.
Shamim Ahmad is a Distinguished Professor of Microbiology and Officer In-Charge at Microbiology Section, Institute of Ophthalmology, Aligarh Muslim University, India since 1983. He has earned his PhD in 1982 and obtained his Postdoctoral training in various Departments of Microbiology at the universities in six countries. His research work mainly involved multi resistant eye pathogens including super bugs MRSAs and their alternative treatment with newer antibacterial and innovative natural products especially honey.
